There are a wide variety of pubs and bars in the area surrounding Shibden View and Halifax. Here are a few of our recommendations.

Windmill Tavern
Just 0.3 miles from the cottage, the Windmill Tavern at Northowram offers a selection of real ales in a warm and welcoming setting. The pub also offers a small range of pub food.

Stump Cross Inn
In addition to an excellent restaurant, Stump Cross Inn also offers an excellent range of beers, hand pulled ale, lagers, ciders, wine and spirits. Located within walking distance at only 0.2 miles from the cottage.

Shoulder of Mutton
Another local pub, the Shoulder of Mutton is located in Northowram. A friendly pub, serving a good range and within walking distance of the cottage.

Cock o’The North,
The Halifax Steam Brewing Company is our local brewery. Located at Hipperholme, the Cock o’The North brewery tap offers some 180 different beers along 8 hand pumps. Cozy sofas and a wood burning stove inside, and an extensive beer garden to the exterior mean this pub is the perfect spot for all seasons.

The Travellers Inn, Hipperholme
A mid-nineteenth century county inn, The Travellers Inn has undergone extensive renovation. Boasting period features, the pub is owned by Ossett Brewery and boasts an excellent selection of real ales.

Stod Fold Brewing Co, Dean Clough
Situated within the impressive Dean Clough mill complex, on the outskirts of Halifax town centre. This is the brewery tap for Stod Fold brewing, with seven hand pumps and a range of real ales and ciders.

The Victorian Craft Beer Cafe
In the centre of Halifax, this ‘beer cafe’ offers a range of 10 hand pulled beers and ciders, 18 beers on tap and 100 different bottled beers. Described as a ‘temple to beer’, this cafe is worth a visit if you’d like to try a more obscure range of beers – the whiskey selection isn’t bad either.
