Our ‘must sees’ for any visit to Halifax!

The Piece Hall

The Grade I listed Piece Hall first opened in 1779, originally as an open-air market for trading ‘pieces’ of cloth. The oldest surviving cloth hall in Britain, this impressive, Georgian building reopened in 2017 after a multi-million pound restoration. The huge, open-air courtyard is surrounded by a variety of independent bars, restaurants, cafes, galleries and shops. There is also a year-round events programme. More info below!

Hebden Bridge

A small mill town that originally grew around the woollen trade, Hebden Bridge is a pretty town on the edge of the Penine Hills. The town is now filled with small, independent shops and cafes, perfect for a wander after exploring the nearby Hardcastle Crags.

Haworth

Home of the famous Brontë sisters, Haworth’s picturesque, cobbled main street will certainly take your breath away (in more ways than one!). Visit the iconic parsonage and take a stroll over the rolling moors, then treat yourself to some well earned refreshments in one of the town’s independent many cafes and pubs.

Saltaire

A designated UNESCO World Heritage Site, Salts Mill and Saltaire village are situated on the banks of the river Aire near Bradford. Named after Sir Titus Salt, who built the mill and village, Saltaire is a model vistorian village and completely free to enter. Explore the beautiful Italianate architecture and parks, or visit the shops and cafes that now occupy the famous Salts Mill.
