Halifax is surrounded by beautiful countryside – we might be biased, but we think that the dramatic valleys and breathtaking views are the best in Yorkshire, if not the country! Explore our stunning area:

Walking
Calderdale is a special part of Yorkshire, with a range of rivers, hills, valleys and moorland, interspersed with reminders of its industrial past. For families, Ogden Water and Hardcastle Crags offer gentle footpaths and pretty views. For the more serious walker, the Mary Townley loop of the Pennine Bridleway offers 47 miles of stunning scenery.

Cycling
Halifax and the surrounding areas provide some excellent opportunities to explore by bike – if you don’t mind the hills of course! Cycle Calderdale provide a range of routes to suite every level of cyclist, see more below.
